Whose life are you living?
Updated: Nov 9, 2022

Some of us live our whole lives trying to please others. Many of us learn from an early age that doing what others ask of us can earn us praise and that not doing so may lead to being shamed or ridiculed. Perhaps we were told that to be successful we needed to become a doctor or a lawyer, that we needed to marry this kind of person, that we needed to dress that way, that we should stay quiet and not speak our opinions, that our family, friends or the world simply wouldn’t accept us if we didn’t measure up to a certain bar.
And so, many of us grow up feeling like something is missing, like something just isn’t quite right. Perhaps we’ve followed the path that was laid out for us, checked all the boxes, bought the nice car, the house, the fancy vacations, and yet we’re still left with this empty feeling inside.
When we honour who we are and what we are here to share, our spirit comes alive and we fall into a natural rhythm with the world around us.
You’ve likely experienced this dilemma at one point or another, or maybe not, but I’d just like to say that if you have, you’re not alone, and it’s never too late to take charge of living life YOUR way. Big changes can be scary, it may mean letting people down, but that’s insignificant in comparison to living your whole life weighed down by a backpack full of “what ifs”.
When we honour who we are and what we are here to share, our spirit comes alive and we fall into a natural rhythm with the world around us.
So I encourage you to live your life, explore what that means to you, and be 100% unconditionally you.
